WashU is seeking a Laboratory Animal Technician I to provide daily care and husbandry for rodent species in accordance with established protocols. The role requires working on a rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays, and involves physical labor in a laboratory setting

Job Summary

  • Provide and document care and husbandry for rodent animal species in accordance departmental SOPS and regulations and guidelines of the Animal Welfare Act and the Public Health Service to assure a quality animal care program that supports the research and teaching at WashU.
  • Requires extensive safety training, alternative work schedules, exposure to chemicals, high noise environment, protective devices, dust, dirt, grease or other disagreeable elements, exposure to moving machinery, and exposure to animals.
