Job Summary

• The dispatcher/recorder will provide police communications and dispatching, maintain police files and records, and perform a wide variety of complex clerical duties requiring specialized knowledge in the police field.
• Receive, evaluate, prioritize and disseminate district wide calls for assistance/service from employees, students, other law enforcement agencies and the public through voice radio and police assistance telephone.
• Applicant needs excellent oral communication skills and effective decision-making skills along with exceptional computer and typing skills, with minimal errors, to produce various reports and other data entry into the Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) computer system for processing police, fire and medical calls.
