Must-have
Single-pass and multi-pass fillet welding in all positions
Full penetration joint details for all thicknesses
Ability to pass A Class skills evaluation test
Experience with GMAW MIG welding processes
Welding material thicknesses from 4mm to 25mm
Working in confined spaces and at heights above 12 feet
Reading construction drawings and job specifications
Nice-to-have
Demonstrated ability to mentor less-skilled workers
High level of pride in workmanship
Good mechanical aptitude for equipment maintenance
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Flexibility to work shifts or overtime as required
Key Requirements
Minimum 1 year B-Class Welder experience at Austal OR 2 years GMAW MIG experience
Pass A Class skills evaluation test for full penetration joints
Successfully complete AL CV weld qualification test requirements
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
