Job Summary

  • This is an opportunity to work with high-frequency spatiotemporal data (e.g., NHL Player and Puck Tracking Data, Sportlogiq, or similar tracking feeds) and design research around in-game strategy.
  • You will work directly with the Director of Analytics & Strategy as well as other members of hockey operations.
  • Present your findings to senior leadership in Flyers Hockey Operations at the conclusion of the summer.

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Proficiency in R and/or Python
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Familiarity with hockey data structures
  • Experience with version control (Git)

Nice-to-have

  • Prior work with sports tracking data
  • Exposure to statistical modeling
  • Experience with data visualization

Key Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program
  • Commitment of 20-40 hours per week for 10-12 weeks
  • 0-2 Years Relevant Work Experience
