Job Summary

  • The Lead Engineer supervises all mechanical, electrical, and building services operations, ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably, including managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and coordinating reactive maintenance responses.
  • Directly supervise and coordinate the engineering team, including technicians and contractors, providing technical mentoring and identifying training needs to develop team capabilities.
  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with relevant legislation including CDM Regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act, and maintain permit-to-work systems, conduct risk assessments, and implement method statements.

Key Requirements

  • City & Guilds or equivalent technical qualification
  • NVQ Level 3 in Building Services Engineering
  • 18th Edition (BS 7671) electrical qualification
  • Relevant HVAC certifications
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in building services engineering/facilities management
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems
  • Current understanding of relevant legislation and industry standards
  • Competent using CAFM systems and Microsoft Office
