Job Summary

  • The Regional Infectious Disease Surveillance Advisor will oversee and provide technical leadership for day-to-day implementation of surveillance activities in AMEE, with potential for additional countries.
  • Responsibilities include leading the development, coordination, and implementation of surveillance activities, epidemiological and laboratory surveillance for zoonotic, epidemic-, and pandemic-prone diseases, as well as outbreak investigations.
  • The role requires providing expert input to national guidelines and normative policies, advising governments and partners on best practices in surveillance, and serving as the regional lead for technical implementation.

Key Requirements

  • Master’s degree or its International Equivalent in epidemiology, public health, veterinary medicine or related field
  • At least 5 years of international experience in surveillance systems
  • At least 3 years of experience managing USG-funded projects
  • Demonstrated expertise in zoonotic diseases across AMEE
  • Experience leading national and regional infectious disease surveillance projects
  • English proficiency required
