Job Summary

  • The role supports the EpiC project's Global Health Security workplan to strengthen national capacities for preventing and responding to public health emergencies.
  • The officer will provide technical leadership for Community Event-based Surveillance and coordinate multi-sectoral outbreak investigations across multiple regions in the Philippines.
  • Candidates must have a solid background in emergency preparedness and demonstrated experience implementing surveillance systems and training local health responders.

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Bachelor's degree in public health or epidemiology
  • 3 years experience in disease surveillance programs
  • Experience with Community Event-based Surveillance (CESR)
  • Knowledge of International Health Regulations (IHR)
  • Ability to travel domestically at least 25%

Nice-to-have

  • Master's degree in public health preferred
  • Experience working with Department of Health Philippines
  • Training in Field Epidemiology Training Program
  • Familiarity with One Health coordination approaches

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
  • Minimum 3 years combined national/international experience
  • Proven experience leading CESR program implementation
  • Practical expertise in IHR application and outbreak control
