The Earth System Science Interdisciplinary Center (ESSIC) is seeking a Grants Specialist to manage financial oversight, proposal preparation, and administrative support for federally sponsored awards. Job Summary

  • The Business Manager will work as a liaison to the management of the ESSIC Business Office, funding agencies, Partners outside of the University as well as the units throughout campus, including the Office of Research Administration.
  • Responsibilities include efficiently managing and maintaining 30+ sponsored award activities, reconciling non-sponsored accounts, processing financial transactions, and managing procurement and travel card requests.
  • The role involves preparing sponsored research proposals, including budgets and cost estimates, and ensuring compliance with sponsor, federal, and UMD regulations.
