The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a Highway Maintenance Specialist to operate equipment for maintaining and repairing roadways, highways, and bridges. This split position involves working out of La Grande and Meacham, and candidates must possess a valid commercial driver’s license or be able to acquire one.

Job Summary
As part of our team, you will operate equipment necessary to maintain and repair roadways, highways, bridges and structures.
This split position will be based out of the La Grande Maintenance Station and will also work out of the Meacham Maintenance Station for 5 months each year.

Key Requirements
One year of basic highway maintenance experience
Two years general landscaping, maintenance, mechanical, farming, logging, or construction experience
Maximum 30 minute response time to La Grande for emergencies
Maximum 60 minute response time to Meacham for emergencies
Possess or ability to acquire CDL-A with tanker endorsement
