  • Essential position responsibilities include planning and leading practices and competitions, recruiting student-athletes who meet both Brown’s academic and athletic standards, managing scheduling and travel, monitoring academic progress, and ensuring effective use of the program’s budget and resources.
  • The position also plays a key role in alumni engagement, fundraising, and community outreach efforts that support the program and the University.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Five to seven years coaching and recruiting experience at the collegiate level required
  • Ability to recruit within NCAA and Ivy League rules
  • Demonstrated ability to develop nationally competitive athletes
  • Demonstrated academic success of previously coached student-athletes
  • Exemplary ethical conduct and conformance to NCAA rules and regulations
  • Commitment to the student-athlete and the ability to coach and motivate
  • Strong organizational; creative writing; interpersonal; oral communication, and computer skills needed
  • Criminal background and DMV checks satisfactory to Brown University
  • Annual rules education on NCAA legislation related to recruiting
  • Maintain current AED/CPR and First Aid certification
