Job Summary
The Director of Nursing (DON) is a registered nurse who oversees and supervises the care of all the residents, also providing direct resident/patient care.
Responsibilities include overall management of the nursing department, staffing levels, policy development, resident safety, staff recruitment, and department budgeting.
The role requires participation in QA, Utilization Review, Patient Care conferences, state surveys, and MDS/care planning coordination.
