The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides direct care for infants in the neonatal unit in collaboration with neonatologists and performs advanced clinical procedures independently.
This role includes participation in emergency neonatal transport and requires maintaining current knowledge of state legal regulations and advanced certifications.

Must-have
Neonatal clinical procedures proficiency
Shift work including 12 or 24 hour shifts
Collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare team
Emergency neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
Neonatal transport care delivery
Nice-to-have
Participation in clinical research studies
Incorporation of evidence based practice guidelines
Providing education to family and caregivers
Knowledge of regulatory and payer systems
Leadership and consultation in NICU nursing
Key Requirements
Master’s or higher degree from accredited neonatal nurse practitioner program
Current licensure by state board of nursing for advanced practice
Current DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances
Certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner by recognized body
Approved Scope of Practice by state nursing board
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), BLS, PALS certifications
Experience or recent completion of relevant degree program
