Job Summary

  • As a Product Engineer for 3M’s Abrasive Systems Division, you will optimize products by driving Product and Process Understanding (PPU) efforts, leading strategic raw material substitution projects and supporting cost reduction projects.
  • You will ensure consistent product performance and stability of existing products by leading product improvement projects, maintaining product standards and specifications, and owning the claims re-substantiation process.
  • This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, global laboratories, and manufacturing sites, while also developing and implementing product control plans and driving scale-up activities for new product introductions.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
  • Manufacturing/process/product engineering experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related
  • Two years experience gathering product information or setting specifications or developing test methods or translating to product requirements
  • Experience in Quality/Manufacturing/Product Development/Engineering
  • Experience scaling up technology/products
  • Prioritization skills
  • Lean Six Sigma, DOE, Statistical Analysis experience
