Job Summary

  • Under general supervision, assigns diagnostic codes to medical record information according to established procedures, utilizing ICD-9 CM and HCPCS systems for outpatient records.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate coding and abstraction of outpatient ancillary, emergency room, and clinic records.
  • Maintains coding for inpatient, observation, and same-day surgery accounts within 4 days post discharge.
