Job Summary

  • Employee will serve as an Engineering Supervisor II with a small group of engineers and technicians engaged in project management, engineering coordination, computer-aided design, construction plan production, estimating, surveying, contract administration and technical support for Division-managed transportation improvement projects.
  • This position will also be responsible for coordinating with other NCDOT units, private engineering firms, property owners, local officials, utility owners, regulatory agencies, construction contractors, and the general public.
  • The ability to work outside in various types of weather, to traverse various types of terrain, and to work at times outside of normal working hours (on a limited basis) is essential.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of engineering
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Experience with NCDOT design guidelines
  • Experience with engineering software applications
  • Registration as a professional engineer by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Engineers and Surveyors (may be required)
