Job Summary

  • The Building Automation Specialist contributes to the strategic vision and planning, development, implementation, functionality and evaluation of building automation systems (BAS) that support, enhance and ensure effective, safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations of mechanical systems and equipment, building controls and utilities for the Wexner Medical Center.
  • Responsibilities include daily management of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems; operational oversight of building automation systems (BAS); and assessment, resolution, and programming of HVAC-related controls issues.
  • As the principal resource and subject matter expert for BAS, the position consults on major initiatives integrating BAS across departments, platforms, and networks.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Two (2) years of prior work experience troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and testing of HVAC Systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/mechanical blueprints and drawings
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Network training and/or experience working with network configurations and troubleshooting
  • Broad knowledge of a variety of Direct Digital Control systems
  • Knowledge of UPS and Management Cards and set up
  • Knowledge and hands on experience of Servers
  • Knowledge of Switch Programming and IP infrastructure/networks
  • Working knowledge of Air Handling Systems
  • BACnet integration between multiple manufacturers
  • Working knowledge of Chilled Water systems
  • Working knowledge of Control Systems
  • Working knowledge of Heating systems
  • Working knowledge of Pneumatic Control Systems
  • Working knowledge of Smoke control systems
  • Working knowledge of Steam
