Job Summary

  • The mission of Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA) is to provide an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience for students by incorporating school and community/family partnerships coupled with a rigorous curriculum along with a data-driven and student-centered instructional model.
  • This is a full-time REMOTE position requiring the ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week, and maintain a professional home office without distractions during the workday.
  • The Middle School Intervention Specialist works with students who have a wide range of learning, mental, emotional and physical disabilities to ensure lessons and teaching strategies meet the students’ needs, teach independent living skills, and provide appropriate literacy, communication, and math skills.

  • Ability to work independently

Key Requirements

  • State of Ohio Intervention Specialist License
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination
  • Willingness to obtain Ohio Certification
  • Minimum 1 year classroom experience preferred
  • Master’s Degree with Special Education emphasis preferred
  • 3+ years classroom experience in Special Education preferred
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Residency preference for Ohio or surrounding states within 100 miles
