Job Summary

  • The Protection Officer provides technical leadership and coordination support to ensure protection responses across Cabo Delgado and Nampula Provinces are strategic, coherent and aligned with international standards and national frameworks.
  • The role includes direct engagement with government authorities and partners to support protection activities, emergency response, and durable solutions for displaced and affected populations.
  • The incumbent supports quality case management, referral systems, protection monitoring, and provides policy, legal and operational advice to senior management and partners.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience
  • Undergraduate degree with 6 years experience or Graduate degree with 5 years experience
  • Experience in refugee protection and humanitarian response
  • Knowledge of Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) principles
  • Experience supporting emergency response operations
  • Knowledge of Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
  • Portuguese language proficiency required
