Job Summary

  • The Medical Physicist Assistant in Radiation Oncology works under the supervision of the Chief Physicists or his designee and works on specification, acquisition, and commissioning of all radiation generating equipment, calibration and QA of treatment machines using departmental protocols and acquisition and maintenance of all dosimetry and health-physics equipment.
  • Under direct supervision of Chief Medical Physicist or his/her designee, provides entry level professional medical physics services at the Department of Radiation Oncology (or its outreach/affiliates) of the OSU Wexner Medical Center.
  • Provides technical assistance in the development of treatment plans for patients undergoing radiation therapy; monitor patients; maintain established policies, procedures, objectives, quality measurement, and safety; perform clinical research as required.
