Job Summary

  • This position is responsible for leading, planning, and implementing the preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair of school buses, light duty vehicles, and support equipment.
  • The candidate will supervise a direct staff of 2-10 employees to ensure maintenance goals are met while managing all components of vehicle maintenance and garage functions.
  • Responsibilities include ensuring regulatory compliance with state and federal laws, controlling maintenance costs, and maintaining accurate data in the Fleet Management Information System.

Key Requirements

  • Vocational training in automotive technology or equivalent
  • Six (6) years of experience related to heavy or light vehicle maintenance
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in managing a large work group
  • ASE Master Automotive, Medium or Heavy Truck certifications preferred
  • Prior supervisory and training experience required
