Job Summary

  • Define the roles and responsibilities of the Director of Nursing (DON), who is a registered nurse overseeing and supervising the care of all residents.
  • Responsible for the overall management of the entire nursing department, staffing levels, recruiting, hiring, training, and conducting employee appraisals.
  • The DON provides direct resident/patient care as needed and works closely with all other departments to ensure excellent overall resident care.
