Carl Zeiss is seeking a Technical Project/Program Manager for strategic innovation and transformation in multisensory coordinate measurement machines. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, particularly in areas related to CMM-sensor technology and project leadership, to drive complex projects across various disciplines

Job Summary

  • You are responsible for the setup and implementation of a new, strategic innovation project for the next generation of measuring technology in our mCMM Business Unit, with the clear perspective of transforming it into a multi-year, scalable program and series production.
  • As a key role reporting directly to the Business Unit Head, you will act cross-functionally across all development disciplines (electronics, system development, sensor development) and thus shape the direction of future product generations.
  • You are responsible for the series-ready scaling of the innovation project into a market-ready platform in close cooperation with Operations, Sales, and Service.

Key Requirements

  • Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Systems Engineering or comparable
  • Several years of experience in CMM sensor technology, precision engineering, optics, electronics, data flows, algorithms, and software architectures
  • Several years of experience as Technical Project/Program Manager for cross-departmental/site projects
  • Experience in lateral/disciplinary leadership of transformation or change projects across multiple areas/functional lines
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical content at management level
  • Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach with clear results orientation
  • Very good English skills
