Job Summary

  • You are responsible for planned, unplanned and emergency inspection, testing, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and/or repair of all mechanical / electrical equipment as they relate to HVAC/R Systems, Building Automation Systems, and natural gas fired emergency standby power systems within Water Production and Wastewater treatment facilities.

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • HVAC/R system maintenance and repair
  • Gas fired equipment operation and maintenance
  • Building Automation and Control Systems programming
  • Industrial mechanical and electrical equipment servicing
  • Use of hoisting and cranes up to 8 Ton capacity
  • Work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Safe handling of chemicals and electrical hazards

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics

Key Requirements

  • Completion of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic apprenticeship program of 9000 hours
  • Completion of Gas Technician Level 1 training program
  • Minimum 5 years experience with gas fired equipment over 400,000 BTUH
  • Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic 313A
  • TSSA Gas Technician 1 (G1) certificate
  • Current Ontario Ozone Depletion Prevention certificate
  • Current Arc Flash Hazard training (CSA Z462)
  • TSSA Welder/Brazer certificate per City Procedures
  • Valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s licence with no more than 6 demerit points
  • Must complete all required on-the-job training and certifications
  • Police Record Check Level 2
