  • Handle technical design challenges for fixtures and custom machines
  • Collaborate with component designers, manufacturing engineers, and integration engineering
  • Manage projects including vendor selection, fabrication, inspection, installation, proof testing, and commissioning

Nice-to-have

  • Design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
  • Experience with common manufacturing processes and machines
  • Familiarity with industry standards (ASME BTH-1, aluminum design manual, AISC)
  • Experience with custom machine design components
  • Experience with Creo and Windchill CAD/PDM systems
  • Experience with NX and Teamcenter CAD/PDM systems
  • Experience with analysis packages (ANSYS Workbench, FEMAP, NASTRAN, NX Advance Simulation)

Key Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years experience with design, build, and commissioning of tooling, fixtures, custom machines or design support equipment
  • Experience with FEM and complex structural analysis
  • Ability to perform hand calculations including creation of Freebody diagrams
  • Proven experience with CAD based design software
  • Basic understanding of common manufacturing materials, GD&T, and tolerance/stack-up analysis
