Job Summary

  • The North Carolina Forest Service is designated as an emergency response Division and is a team of professionals who provide forest protection, resource management and environmental education.
  • The primary job functions of this position are to maintain and repair heavy equipment, as well as troubleshoot complex mechanical problems including diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, final drives, hydraulics, brakes and undercarriage problems.
  • Wildfire & disaster/emergency response functions require readiness 24/7, and some work functions require evening, holiday and/or weekend work.
