Job Summary

  • The Microbiology laboratory encompasses specimen collection, processing and testing within the Department of Clinical Laboratories, offering full-service testing in bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, virology, parasitology, smear interpretation and molecular testing.
  • The medical technologist performs specimen processing, test request entry, order entry verification and correction, and all clinical lab testing in Microbiology, including interpretation of smears and cultures, and specialized testing.
  • The position is responsible for delivering quality laboratory testing to OSUMC patients and clients as well as to the community, requiring effective verbal and written communication with staff and clients.
