This one year training program is for recent or soon to be high school graduates and alternative school graduates to learn about state government and highway maintenance.
Trainees receive hands-on training including safety rules, job hazard assessments, first aid, and training to obtain a Class A commercial driver license.

Key Requirements
high school diploma or GED between Jan 1, 2023 and Jul 1, 2026
maximum 45 minute response time to Boring, OR location
ability to obtain Class A commercial learner permit within 60 days of hire
must be at least 18 years old by Sept 1, 2026 with one year driving experience
valid Oregon driver license with acceptable driving record
ability to obtain CDL-A with tanker endorsement and no restrictions within six months or possess valid CDL-A with endorsements
pre-employment driving record and FMCSA checks
