Key Requirements

  • Graduate from nursing, BSN, HIM RHIT or RHIA, or foreign medical doctorate
  • Accredited coursework in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology
  • Minimum three years clinical or utilization review experience
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner (CDIP) preferred
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) credential preferred
