Job Summary

• The Inpatient Social Worker: Psychiatric functions within the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to provide patient care and supportive services that are directed at achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patients involvement in his/her own care plan, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs.
• Inpatient psychiatric social workers are an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, nurses, PCRMs, other social workers, medical, nursing, and social-work students & psychiatry residents, making recommendations for treatment, rehabilitation, and social service connections.
• The Inpatient Psychiatric Social Worker is responsible for serving populations with a variety of clinical, religious and cultural needs.
