Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Set-up and operate Mill-turn/Twin Turret machines
  • Operate Grinding or Sliding head machines
  • Operate machining centers
  • Load and safely operate CNC machines
  • Run multiple machines / set-ups
  • Identify and adjust cutting tool wear
  • Verify programs and settings using measuring equipment
  • Maintain housekeeping standards
  • Adhere to company procedures
  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly maintenance tasks

Nice-to-have

  • Work to tight tolerances in a wide range of materials
  • Troubleshoot machining processes
  • Work under own initiative
  • Experience in aerospace machining
  • Experience with AS9100 requirements

Key Requirements

  • Skilled engineer with experience of setting and operating CNC machines
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy
  • Good level of IT skills
  • Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully
  • Understands workshift and tool wear compensation / offsets
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery
  • Previous experience as a machinist with experience of CNC machines or a minimum: HNC qualified machinist
