Job Summary

• Provide referrals to community mental health support and shelter opportunities for those individuals identified by Sheriff’s Office personnel to be at-risk relating to mental health and homelessness.
• Conduct assessments using structured assessment tools on identified at-risk individuals in the community relating to homelessness and mental health.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with mental health providers, community leaders, professional associations, and representatives of public and private agencies.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Two years of social services experience
• Valid Florida Driver License (depending on assignment)
• No visible tattoos on face, head, and neck
• No illegal drug sale/use within lifetime/past 36 months
• No felony convictions within lifetime
• No misdemeanor convictions involving perjury, false statement, or domestic violence
• No dishonorable discharge from military
• Successful completion of background investigation
• Live within Hillsborough County or specified surrounding counties within 60 miles of Falkenburg Road Jail
