Job Summary

  • Join Multnomah County as a Senior Database Administrator to lead our transition from on-premise servers to a modern cloud architecture, ensuring data systems are secure, optimized, and ready for the future.
  • In this role, you will manage daily database operations, lead the shift to cloud technologies like Azure, Google GCP and AWS, design data backup and recovery plans, and fix performance bottlenecks.
  • You will be joining the IT Division within the Department of County Assets (DCA), a seasoned team focused on providing technical support and undergoing a major shift to modern cloud-based tools.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of IT development and database administration experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Azure Cloud services
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence Data Marts and Data Warehousing
  • Advanced experience with ETL development
  • Advanced knowledge of database logging tools
  • Working knowledge of BI reporting platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server and Cloud environments
  • Working knowledge of SSIS
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Azure Entra ID security
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and Azure cloud backup/recovery
  • Basic knowledge of networking and firewall concepts
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server administration
  • Basic knowledge of SAN/NAS Storage management
  • Basic knowledge of virtualization technology
  • Basic knowledge of MS Windows Server high availability
