Must-have

  • Inpatient hospital audit experience
  • Medicare DRGs and APR-DRG knowledge
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Encoder software
  • Ability to work independently remotely
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding
  • Strong physician communication skills

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with complex surgical coding
  • Knowledge of risk adjustment and hospital data
  • Understanding of patient safety indicators and value-based purchasing
  • Self-motivated and organized

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years inpatient hospital audit experience
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Technician (RHIT) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Technical/Vocational School preferred
