Job Summary

  • The Protection Officer provides technical leadership and coordination support to ensure that protection responses across Cabo Delgado and Nampula Provinces are strategic, coherent and aligned with international standards and national frameworks.
  • The role includes direct engagement with Government authorities and partners delivering protection, legal, psychosocial and community-based services to displaced and affected populations.
  • The incumbent supports emergency response operations, partner capacity building, and quality assurance of protection interventions in a complex and high-risk operational environment.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years relevant professional experience

  • Knowledge of Portuguese language
  • Experience in refugee protection and humanitarian response
  • Familiarity with UNHCR protection frameworks
  • Experience engaging government authorities
  • Protection Learning Programme certificate
