Job Summary

  • The Fire Chief is responsible for efficiently, safely and in compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) providing Fire and Emergency Services, including crash and fire prevention ensuring readiness and compliance with NFPA / DOD requirements.
  • Responsibilities include responding to large scale emergencies, making decisions related to emergency management and fire ground operations, planning, coordinating, supervising and evaluating fire and EMS operations, and preparing records and reports.
  • The Fire Chief will be onsite during regular working hours and shall be available onsite within one hour after the Government’s regular working hours, and will also be available for on-call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years managing similar operations
  • Minimum 2 years HAZMAT First Response experience
  • Certified IAW Assistant Chief of Operations
  • Certified Fire Officer IV
  • Trained in aircraft rescue and firefighting
  • NFPA Incident Command System training
  • Emergency Vehicle Operator Course certified
  • Airfield Vehicle Operator Course certified
  • Trained in accordance with DoD 6055.06-M
  • Department of Transportation First Responder level or equivalent
  • Comply with NFPA 1500 and NFPA 1582
  • Meet minimum qualification standards of GS 081 Series
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a driver's license
  • Successfully pass PACOM medical requirements
  • Obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance
