Must-have

  • Expert knowledge of ICD-10-CM CPT HCPCS guidelines
  • Advanced medical terminology anatomy physiology knowledge
  • Proficiency in adult learning concepts and instructional design
  • Experience with virtual and in-person teaching methods
  • Ability to develop web-based coding education programs

Nice-to-have

  • Multi-specialty or complex specialty coding experience
  • Strong interpersonal and oral engaging presentation skills
  • Adaptability to work in multiple work environments
  • Experience coordinating multiple tasks independently

Key Requirements

  • Coding Associate (CCA) certification issued by AHIMA
  • Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) certification issued by AHIMA
  • Professional Coder (CPC) certification issued by AAPC
  • 5 years of experience in medical coding
  • Completion of accredited program in Medical Coding Specialist
