The APP will support the inpatient service of Division of Gastrointestinal and Oncologic Surgery, providing direct care to individuals and families in the inpatient surgical settings in the peri-operative period.
The APP is an integral member of the surgical team responsible for patient care including obtaining patient histories and physical exams, coordinating testing and consultations, and ordering and implementing treatment plans.
This individual is responsible for coordinating care for multiple services both during the patient’s hospitalization and in the discharge setting, playing a significant role in providing quality of care and continuity.
