Penn State Golf Courses is seeking a part-time Conservation Interpreter to provide visitor services and educational programs at Shaver's Creek Environmental Center. This position is ideal for those with an interest in environmental education and requires strong communication skills, as well as the ability to engage with the public

Job Summary

  • Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center is seeking a part-time Conservation Interpreter (CI) to provide front-line visitor service and education to Shaver's Creek Environmental Center visitors, including welcoming and providing orientation to the site and visitor opportunities.
  • The CI also supports, develops, and provides guided programs including hikes, aviary and herpetarium tours, community science initiatives, and tabling events, and includes staffing the bookstore and engaging with visitors in person and on the phone.
  • This position requires long periods of standing, walking, talking, and occasionally lifting up to 35lbs; with or without accommodations.
