Job Summary

  • Coordinate the daily operations of the service by assisting the physicians, promoting the development of other nurse professionals, demonstrating clinical expertise and implementation of the Department's philosophy and standards of nursing practice.
  • Responsible for coordinating and tracking the retinal screening of the preterm infants while inpatient and as outpatient up to the time the infant’s retinas reach vascular maturity.
  • Ensure appropriate education and parent information is provided prior to each eye screening and after each exam, giving support and understanding to parents with emphasis on educating them to the importance of the screening process.
