Job Summary

  • In this role you will participate in the patient care in the ambulatory setting, recognizing normal and abnormal signs and symptoms and provide support during life threatening emergencies.
  • You may perform basic administrative, clerical and technical supportive services when conditions regarding supervision, training, specific authorization, and records are met.
  • Be able to work with minimal supervision and independently coordinate and prioritize task and protocols established by the department.

Key Requirements

  • Medical assistant diploma or certificate
  • National certification for medical assistant
  • 10 clock hours training in injections
  • 10 hours training in venipuncture
  • Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomology
  • Ability to administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications
  • Ability to perform EKG
  • Ability to order medical supplies
  • Ability to set up and assist physician with procedures
  • Ability to perform quality control and patient sample testing
  • Knowledge of safety requirements for biohazardous specimens
  • Knowledge of MSDS and emergency treatments
  • Ability to be punctual and maintain attendance
  • Ability to push, pull or carry 30 lbs or more
  • Travel to assigned clinic
