Job Summary

  • It is the responsibility of the cook to manage and operate the kitchen in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
  • The cook must maintain the kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner and prepare tasteful meals including special diets accurately.
  • The job requires cooperation with personnel in all departments and participation in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.

Key Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year cook experience in hospital or long term care
  • Must obtain and maintain ServSafe Certificate
  • Must remain in good standing with Department of Public Health
