Job Summary

  • The Medical Assistant (MA) is an unlicensed individual who performs basic administrative, clerical (front office) tasks and routine medical (back office) tasks and procedures under direct supervision of a licensed physician, designated advanced practice provider or Registered Nurse in a clinical setting.

Key Requirements

  • Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant
  • Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program
  • Completed a formal medical training program of the United States Armed Forces AND one year back-office patient care experience
  • Previous medical training such as an EMT, Nurse Assistant or Certified Nurse Assistant AND one year back-office patient care experience
  • Associate degree or higher in a clinical healthcare field and one-year back-office patient care experience
  • Current CPR certification
