Job Summary

• Lead, develop, support and maintain critical database applications and manage the team through demand management, maintaining a shift and on-call rota, regular one to ones, team meetings, and annual appraisals.
• Gain an in-depth knowledge of the unit’s processes, ensure team compliance, and drive quality standards across the database suite with a focus on reducing incidents and problems.
• Promote innovation by advocating new tools, processes, and technical developments to aid CI/CD and drive automation as much as possible.

Key Requirements

• Proven experience with engineering / DEVOPS principles
• Knowledge of git concepts, CI/CD, release strategy, branching strategy, and development / release pipelines
• Good communication skills
• Hands on experience of automation
• Experience with scripting languages; Bash, Groovy, YAML and/or Python
• Use of CICD tooling such as GIT/Ansible/Jenkins/Nexus
• Financial services experience
• Oracle / MSSQL / Postgres
• Broad Infrastructure knowledge
• Use of JIRA / Kanban
• Understanding of Agile software engineering principles
• ITIL qualified
