Salary

Base: $31.79/hr; Premiums: +$1.62/hr for PT/MT cert, +$3.23/hr for UT Level 1, +$1.00/hr for 3rd shift; Bonus: Up to $2,000 sign-on & retention

Skills & Requirements

Must-have

  • Active Certified Welding Inspector CWI certification
  • Flux Cored Arc Welding FCAW inspection experience
  • Visual inspection of heavy plate weldments
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding standards
  • Ability to work independently on 3rd shift

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with automated or robotic welding systems
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar Production System CPS
  • Lean continuous improvement tool proficiency
  • High-mix low-volume manufacturing background
  • Mentoring skills for welding operators

Key Requirements

  • Active Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification from AWS
  • Demonstrated experience inspecting Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
  • Strong knowledge of welding symbols and blueprints
  • Hands-on experience with visual inspection methods
  • Understanding of welding metallurgy and defect identification
