Nelnet is seeking a Legal Counsel for its Consumer Financial Services Litigation team, responsible for managing a national portfolio of cases involving consumer financial matters. The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of litigation experience, particularly in consumer finance, and will work closely with compliance and risk partners in a regulated environment

Job Summary

  • The attorney in this position will have direct responsibility for active cases and will be expected to make judgment calls, assess risk early, and drive strategy rather than simply react to litigation.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Risk, and business partners to ensure litigation positions are aligned with regulatory expectations, internal controls, and consumer protection obligations.
