Job Summary

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria, perform routine and complex technical procedures, and monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.
  • Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls, report accurate and timely test results, and perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science
  • 3 months or more of clinical laboratory testing experience
  • ASCP or AMT certification
  • Applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards
  • Understanding of laboratory operations
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Proficient with computers
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
