Job Summary

  • The Area 7 Coordinator serves as a liaison and representative between the NC Division of Emergency Management and NCEM Area 7, evaluating local government Emergency Management programs and assisting in strengthening identified weaknesses.
  • This position is home-based and requires the selected candidate to live in-state within the assigned area or relocate within 180 days of hire, with a primary response capacity for the Division including routine emergency and disaster situations.
  • The role is subject to 24-hour on-call emergency/disaster response and includes state benefits such as paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, retirement, and health insurance.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in directing governmental/military agency operations, including 1 year in emergency planning/response
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must live in-state in assigned area or relocate within 180 days
  • ICS 100, 200, 300, 400 certifications and AHIMT training/credentials preferred
