The Allegheny Intermediate Unit is seeking a Preschool Early Intervention Preschool Service Coordinator to manage the intake process and support the educational planning for preschoolers eligible for special education services. The ideal candidate will have relevant certification, experience in special education, and strong organizational and communication skills

Job Summary

  • This position is accountable for supporting the Preschool Early Intervention (PEI) Program’s Child Find responsibilities through the coordination of the intake process from a variety of referral sources to ensure identification of preschoolers eligible for special education services.
  • Represents as the local educational agency in matters related to educational planning for new and continuing students by reviewing Evaluation Reports, serving as LEA Representative in IEP meetings, and facilitating the kindergarten transition process to support student achievement and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Represents and promotes the AIU and Preschool Early Intervention by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to establish and maintain relationships that effectively support families and advance student outcomes.

Key Requirements

  • Level II PDE Certification in Special Education PK-12 or Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12
  • Master's degree in special education or related services preferred

  • Act 114, Act 34, Act 151 and NSOR Clearances
