Job Summary

  • The IRC is seeking a Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV) Specialist for an upcoming FCDO funding opportunity to enhance survivor wellbeing and reduce GBV/CRSV in targeted states.
  • The Specialist will provide strategic and technical leadership, support adaptive programming, promote integrated service delivery, and oversee risk management and safeguarding integration.
  • Responsibilities include strengthening engagement with women's rights organizations, operationalizing localization, and leading capacity strengthening for downstream partners.

  • Experience in complex, conflict-affected contexts
  • Experience in Sudan or similar contexts strongly preferred
  • Proven experience providing strategic technical leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to design and lead adaptive programming
  • Strong experience integrating GBV risk mitigation across sectors
  • Proven track record in capacity strengthening and partnership management
  • Experience operationalizing localization approaches
  • Strong understanding and applied experience in AAP
  • Demonstrated expertise in safeguarding and protection risk management
  • Extensive experience engaging with humanitarian coordination mechanisms
  • Strong experience in advocacy and donor engagement
  • Proven ability to lead programme quality assurance
  • Experience conducting/guiding protection/GBV assessments
  • Demonstrated ability to work in highly insecure environments
  • Strong knowledge of the Sudanese context
  • Excellent coordination, communication, and facilitation skills
  • Fluency in English required
  • Arabic strongly preferred
