Job Summary
The Specialist will provide administrative program support to the TRIO program in the area of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, and provide one-on-one academic coaching, group tutoring, and educational support and services to students enrolled in the program.
Additional responsibilities include updating and maintaining electronic and paper files for program participants, tracking student progress; developing and implementing retention strategies; identifying and recruiting possible program participants; maintaining a caseload of students; supervising Peer Tutors; and assisting with planning and facilitating student workshops, orientations, and special events.
The Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with department deans in science, industrial technology, and engineering to create course syllabi for the SSS STEM area and recruiting and interviewing undergraduate and graduate students for Peer Tutor positions.
